Student Accommodation Sheffield – Student Housing
Let’s be frank here, there are so many places in Sheffield to live as a second year student. The city is almost completely dedicated to the student population there, with new buildings popping up all over the city centre, putting pressure on independent housing companies to compete even harder for the lodgings of future students. While the modern student accommodation blocks have the edge with facilities and decor, they don’t offer the same levels of freedom that a student house does, which still puts them at a disadvantage to the independent companies.
We go over one of the popular areas to live in Sheffield as a student at university, which is Ecclesall Road (pictured above).
Ecclesall Road
Ecclesall Road is a thriving student street, with so many houses located on or just off the main road, it sees more student footfall out of the university campuses then anywhere else in Sheffield. This is true in both the day time and the night time, as students commute to lectures as well as head out on the town for the numerous nights out that are available to students from Sheffield Hallam. It has a whole host of local shops to choose from, including a Tesco, Marks and Spencers food, and a lot of fast food joints including KFC. There are also plenty of restaurants there, including the excellent Mud Crab restaurant.
One of the popular student housing companies located on this street are Strawberry Student Homes, 343 Ecclesall Road, Sheffield, S11 8PF. They offer student accommodation Sheffield that you will love, for Sheffield Hallam and University of Sheffield students, located near Ecclesall Road and Sharrow Vale road.
Close to the Student Union
If you’re in the first year of your studies, you will probably find it easier to be located somewhere close to the students union, so you can get used to your surroundings, and you don’t have to travel too far to get to lectures and to events. This may also save you money on taxi / bus rides, and you often have less money in first year so this is important.

Getting Your Diary Priorities Right
One of the most important pieces of advice for students is to balance their time right. It’s so common to see people either get too caught up with uni work to have a social life, or partying far too hard and missing lectures / getting behind on coursework. Balance is the key to university life, and so you should strive hard to find what works for you and your course.
